CargoLinked vs Freightos: Instant Rates or Competing Quotes?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between CargoLinked and Freightos?+

Freightos is an instant-rate marketplace: you search a lane and see bookable prices immediately from pre-loaded forwarder rates. CargoLinked is a request-and-quote marketplace: you describe the shipment and forwarders serving that lane quote it, with the contract made directly between you and the forwarder.

Which is cheaper, an instant rate or a quoted price?+

Neither is systematically cheaper. Instant rates are competitive where volume justifies maintaining them — standard cargo on major lanes. Quoted prices tend to hold up better on non-standard cargo and thinner lanes, because a person priced your actual shipment rather than a lane average.

Can I use both platforms?+

Yes, and many importers do — an instant rate to sanity-check a budget, then a posted request to see what forwarders will actually commit to. A large gap between the two usually means the instant rate excludes charges that appear later, so it is worth investigating rather than ignoring.
