CargoLinked vs JCtrans: Forwarder Network or Shipper Marketplace?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is JCtrans a freight marketplace?+

JCtrans describes itself as "the leading platform of freight forwarders" and is built primarily for forwarder-to-forwarder business — finding agents and partners in other countries. Its inquiry board carries a large volume of requests, but they are largely between forwarders rather than from cargo owners, which makes it a network rather than a shipper marketplace.

Does CargoLinked offer payment protection like JCtrans?+

No. JCtrans states up to $150,000 of annual cooperation risk protection along with a risk member blacklist, dispute resolution and credit filing. CargoLinked has none of those — our only review mechanism is an optional per-listing Verified badge. If counterparty risk between forwarders is your problem, a network with financial protection is the right tool.

Should a freight forwarder join both JCtrans and CargoLinked?+

They serve different halves of the business, so for many forwarders yes. A network supplies agent relationships that let you handle lanes you do not physically cover; a shipper marketplace supplies cargo to quote on. A free CargoLinked listing costs nothing to test alongside an existing network membership.
