Frequently Asked Questions

What information do I need to post a freight request?+

Origin and destination, weight and dimensions per package and in total, packaging type, the commodity, the Incoterm, a ready date, and any special requirements such as temperature control or hazardous classification. Missing dimensions is the most common reason a request goes unanswered, because ocean LCL and air cannot be priced without them.

Why post one request instead of emailing several forwarders?+

Because everyone answers the same specification, the quotes come back comparable without you normalising them by hand. Emailing five forwarders usually means describing the shipment five slightly different ways, which is the main reason quotes arrive incomparable — not evasiveness on the provider side.

When is a freight request the wrong tool?+

For a single small parcel, an integrator such as DHL or FedEx is usually cheaper and faster than any forwarder quote, so posting a request adds delay for nothing. Requests earn their keep from roughly one pallet upward, on international lanes, and whenever customs clearance is involved.
